Just about two weeks ago I launched my Fine Art Print Shop. This was something I’ve been working on for almost 2 years now and wow it feels amazing to finally talk about it with you!
It all started with an accidental blurry photograph from a maternity session by the sea. When I saw that photo for the first time something magical happened in my mind & heart. I immediately thought that the photo looked like a painting and that it needed to be framed.
After that session I called my husband on the drive home & told him the vision I had. He was just as excited as I was! From that day forward we started working on the Fine Art Print Shop.
My dream is to bring art into your home that makes you feel. That compliments a room. That tells a story. That every time you walk by the frame it reminds you of a memory that brings a warm smile to your face and heart.
I’d like to admit something – it took me 2 years to print & frame a single wedding photo. I see the photo everyday in our bedroom and it brings me back to the night when we danced under the moonlight with our family & friends celebrating our love. Having framed photos in your home, representative of a special milestone, brings you back to a joyful time that you experienced that moment in your life. It’s something that you can always look back on and recreate that special feeling.
The goal of the fine art print shop is to give you an easy place to create & buy quality artwork for your home that you can enjoy shortly after our time together.
Maybe your framed artwork is a beautiful, cozy portrait of your family in nature with wind swept hair or maybe it’s a far away landscape photograph of you and your family exploring by the sea with magical sun flares. Or maybe it’s a close up of your hands tangled together in a hug.
We can design something big for the fireplace or something dainty for a hallway nook.
It took me a while to find a framer I enjoyed working with. At first I was going to use a framer online but that way didn’t sit well with me. The process didn’t excite me. It didn’t feel special. I just felt like another order number that came in through an email.
What did excite me was working with a local framer. Visiting his studio & seeing his process, touching a variety of fine art paper and both geeking out over it, looking at different matting options, seeing his work that was going out to homes, working together to pick the frames that best compliment my work & my brand. This process took longer than ordering online but that’s what makes it special. That’s what makes it one of a kind. It’s what makes me proud of the frames I’m offering in the Fine Art Print Shop because I know how much soul has gone into each and every frame.
In high school when I was supposed to be studying (oops) I would flip through home decor magazines or scroll through Tumblr (omg remember Tumblr?!). I would get lost in the design & decor of rooms. Wait, let’s go back even further – when I was in middle school I would spend hours on Sims building & decorating homes. I’ve always had a love for home design. I love how a single frame can transform the mood of a room. It can either be the final touch or the start of a special room. I love the stories they add to a room too. Needles to say, I am super excited about my Fine Art Print shop & can’t wait to share the orders that went in already!
